Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, Sheriff Mike Tregre is reviewing the timeline for the 2019 tax sale currently set for May 27, 2020. The St. John the Baptist Sheriff’s Office will post any updates to that timeline on its website, www.stjohnsheriff.org, and Facebook page.
Property tax payments may be made in full online at our website, www.stjohnsheriff.org. Full payments also may be mailed with a check or money order to SJSO, P.O. Box 1600, LaPlace, LA 70069. Please make the check or money order payable to St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office. Anyone with questions may call 985-359-8710 or email jeff.clement@stjohnsheriff.org.
If you received a letter regarding 2017 or 2018 taxes owed due to change orders removing homestead exemptions, please call 985-359-8710 or email jeff.clement@stjohnsheriff.org . An extension of the timeline to pay without any interest being assessed will be available.
The SJSO central office remains closed to the public. However, all emails and phone calls will be returned as soon as possible.
