On Saturday, October 17, 2015, at 8:25 pm, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff‘s Office deputies responded to the 8800 block of Houma Drive in Reserve for the report of a subject that was shot. Responding deputies located a 17-year-old male subject with a gunshot wound to his foot. EMS transported the subject to a New Orleans area hospital for treatment. No one else was injured.
The victim told deputies that a subject in a passing car fired one gunshot striking him in the foot. He could not give deputies a description of the shooter or the car. Later during an interview, he told detectives that an accidental discharge of his own handgun inflicted the wound to his foot.
The investigation is ongoing an possible charges are forthcoming pending the outcome the the investigation.
