Detective Lt. Basil Trepagnier of the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office has joined an elite group of law enforcement officials after successfully completing training at the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Va. Lt. Trepagnier was among 133 students from throughout the world who completed the rigorous 11-week training and graduated from the 280th session December 16, 2021. The by invitation-only training is attended by leaders of state, local, federal, and international law enforcement agencies. Participants are selected through a nomination process. “I took this time to invest in the highest level of training possible to bring back to St. John Parish and spread this knowledge within the department under Sheriff Mike Tregre’s administration,” Lt. Trepagnier said. “I would like to thank Sheriff Tregre for the opportunity and my family, work family, and friends for their support. I am forever invested in St. John Parish and the safety of all the citizens. ” Lt. Trepagnier attended courses on fitness in law enforcement, stress management, effective writing, communication skills for law enforcement leaders, essentials of law enforcement leaders, and overview of forensic science for police administrators and managers.Lt. Trepagnier and other students also participated in leadership and specialized training where they shared ideas, techniques, and experiences to enhance their ability in policing in their respective communities.
