Several officers visited preschoolers in October to share the message that police officers are their friends.
Sgt. Danielle Falgoust, Lt. Basil Trepagnier, Sgt. Katie Evans, and Deputy Ingrid Perrilloux visited students at Joan’s Day Care and Preschool in LaPlace.
The officers stressed to the children that a police officer’s job is to keep them safe and help them. “We are here to help you,” Sgt. Falgoust told the children.
Police officers teach people about the law, solve problems, and serve and protect the community, Lt. Trepagnier said.
The officers also spoke to the children about when to call 911 and personal safety and “stranger danger.”
Officers Claudia Weston, Terrence Wilson and Ingrid Perrilloux stopped by Garden of Eden Preschool in LaPlace during their fall festival. Each child received a goodie bag with 911 coloring books and stickers and other treats.
