The St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office Distinguished Gentlemen’s Club members recently learned that a person doesn’t have to be a doctor, emergency medical services technician or even an adult to learn and use cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
This life-saving technique was the focus of training held recently for the DG Club at Patrol Headquarters in LaPlace. The boys learned how to respond in an emergency situation that may require immediate action especially CPR since an ambulance may be unable to arrive quickly. The group learned that providing CPR dramatically increases the chances of survival for someone experiencing sudden cardiac arrest.
Everyone successfully completed the training and earned CPR certification.
