The St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office hosted an Employee Benefits and Health Fair September 10-11 in the Lanard Robinet Multi-Purpose Room at Patrol Headquarters in LaPlace.
The Human Resources Department sponsored the fair, which also featured The Blood Center Bloodmobile. Employees had the opportunity to give blood, participate in several activities to win gifts from various vendors, receive information about maintaining a healthy lifestyle, saving for retirement, insurance benefits, money management and other helpful advice focusing on the physical, emotional, social, and financial well-being of employees.
Officers had the opportunity to talk with representatives from many of the vendors who provide employee benefits at the SJSO.
Vendors were: Tatje Insurance, Planet Fitness, Louisiana Sheriff’s Pension & Relief Fund, Louisiana Deferred Compensation, Humana, Ochsner, Ory Family Dentistry, Saint Optical, Family Home Care, Louisiana Federal Credit Union, Regions Bank, Edward Jones Investments, Legal Shield/ID Shield, Cigna Life, Colonial Life, AFLAC and Washington National. These vendors also donated door prizes for the event.
Other companies that donated door prizes were Jackson Industrial Services Inc., LaPlace Glass Works, Wal-Mart, Napa Auto Parts, Ace Hardware Bailey’s Shrimp, Rainbow Chevrolet, El Paso, PJs Coffee as well as the St John Parish Sheriff’s Office.
