Two Garyville men have been arrested on several drug violations and face other charges after attempting to flee a traffic stop. Arrested were Trevin Trevelle Johnson, 29, and Juan Carlos Parrilla, 27.

On September 26, 2018, about 12:30 p.m., deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle for turn violations on Historic West Street in Garyville, but the driver of the vehicle failed to stop. Officers observed the passenger throw contents, appearing to be MDMA/ecstasy tablets, from a clear plastic bag out of the vehicle’s window. The passenger, later identified as Johnson, then jumped from the moving vehicle and fled on foot. Eventually, the driver stopped on Historic Main Street, and fled on foot. Deputies pursued both subjects. After a brief foot pursuit, Johnson was taken into custody. At the time, officers were unable to locate the driver, later identified as Parrilla.
After obtaining a judicial search warrant, officers located more than 200 MDMA/ecstasy tablets, about two grams of crystal methamphetamine and a digital scale inside the vehicle.
Johnson was arrested Wednesday, September 26, 2018 and charged with resisting an officer by flight (misd), possession with intent to distribute MDMA (felony), possession of methamphetamines less than 28 grams (felony), and obstruction of justice (felony). He is being held in custody in lieu of a $39,750 bond. Since 2005, Johnson has been arrested more than 10 times for drug violations in St. John Parish.
Through investigation, detectives located and arrested Parrilla Monday, October 1, 2018 in LaPlace. At the time of arrest, Parrilla again had methamphetamine on him and attempted to destroy it.
Parrilla was charged with resisting an officer by flight (misd), possession with intent to distribute MDMA (felony), possession of methamphetamines less than 28 grams (felony), possession or distribution of drug paraphernalia 1st offense (misd), turning movements and required signals and obstruction of justice (felony). He is being held in custody in lieu of a $88,250 bond. Since 2009, Parrilla has been arrested more than 10 times for drug violations in St. John Parish.
