Craig Elliot

Craig Elliot, 17, of LaPlace, was arrested Friday, October 13, 2017 in connection to an armed robbery in LaPlace. On Thursday, October 12, 2017, about 5:30 p.m., deputies responded to the area of Calais Drive in LaPlace in reference to an armed robbery with a firearm. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the 18-year-old male victim. The victim was reportedly inside a friend’s residence at Lincoln Court Apartments in LaPlace, allowing a male acquaintance to use his IPhone 7 when another male subject, later identified as Elliot, walked towards the male acquaintance and took the cell phone from his hand. When the victim asked Elliot to return the phone, Elliot reached behind a counter, pulled out a handgun, pointed it at the victim and demanded that the victim leave the residence, without returning the cell phone. The victim then left the residence. After identifying Elliot as the suspect, officers obtained a judicial warrant and booked Elliot for armed robbery with a firearm (felony). He is being held in custody in lieu of a $65,000 bond.
