Jonathan Handy

Jonathan Handy, 25, of Kenner, was arrested Saturday, July 29, 2017. On July 29, 2017, about 8:45 p.m., deputies observed a Dodge Durango traveling with one headlight and initiated a traffic stop at East 22nd Street and Airline Highway in Reserve. Deputies made contact with the driver and identified him as Jonathan Handy. During the stop, officers observed Handy’s nervous demeanor, and they also discovered a passenger holding a baby in his lap. Upon searching the vehicle, deputies discovered a handgun under the floor mat of the passenger back seat. A criminal check revealed Handy is a convicted felon with an active warrant for simple damage to property – under $500, home invasion, and domestic abuse battery of a pregnant victim with child endangerment.

Handy was booked with possession of a firearm/carrying a concealed weapon by a convicted felon (felony) and on the judicial warrant for simple damage to property – under $500 (misd); home invasion (felony); and domestic abuse battery of a pregnant victim with child endangerment (felony). He is being held in custody in lieu of a $41,000 bond.
