Second Suspect Arrested in Shooting Investigation
St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Gregory Williams, 25, on December 10 on a judicial court ordered arrest warrant. Williams was the second suspect arrested in connection with the shooting that occurred on November 21 on Greenwood Drive in LaPlace. Over the course of the investigation, detectives identified Williams as a suspect and obtained an arrest warrant for his arrest.
Detectives arrested Gregory Williams and booked him with principal to attempted second-degree murder and attempt or conspire to distribute or possess with intent to distribute schedule I CDS. He remains in custody in lieu of a $170,000 bond. Williams was arrested in St. John the Baptist Parish in October 2013 and booked on illegal weapon and drug charges.

St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Devin Hebert, 19, on November 25 on a judicial court ordered arrest warrant. Hebert was arrested in connection with the shooting that occurred on November 21 on Greenwood Drive in LaPlace. Over the course of the investigation, detectives identified Hebert as a suspect and obtained an arrest warrant for his arrest. Hebert remains in custody in lieu of a $212,500 bond.

On Saturday, November 21, 2015, at 8:45 pm, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to the area near the intersection of Greenwood Drive and Iberville Street in LaPlace for the report of a shooting. Responding deputies found an 18-year-old male victim with multiple gunshot wounds to both his legs. Emergency medical services transport the victim to a New Orleans area hospital for treatment. His current condition is unknown. No one else was injured.
