St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives identified one of two suspects in surveillance video of two suspects trespassing on the Emily C. Watkins School grounds in the early morning hours on August 26. Detectives identified one suspect as Kirk Jouty Jr., 27, of LaPlace. Detectives will apply for an arrest warrant for Jouty for trespassing. Deputies arrested Jouty on Thursday on a fugitive warrant for St. Charles Parish.
Detectives are investigating a burglary of the school that was reported on August 26. Currently, detectives cannot link the two incidents, but the investigation is ongoing.
