On Thursday, March 26, 2015, at 2:47 pm, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the intersection of Hebert Drive and Breaux Drive in Laplace for the report of a window on a school bus being shot with a BB gun. Deputies arrived to find that a window on the bus was shattered. The incident scared several students on the bus, but none of the students were injured.

The bus driver told deputies that when she stopped to let students off the bus, she heard children in the back of the bus yell, “He shot the bus!” She saw a male subject running away from the area wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and black pants. The bus driver told deputies that student passengers were visibly shaken and terrified. Paramedics called to the scene checked the students for injuries. No injuries were reported.

The incident is under investigation.
