On Sunday, December 14, 2014, at 7:03 pm, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 2000 block of Yorktowne Drive in LaPlace for the report of gunshots heard in the area and a car being shot. Residents told investigators that they heard several gunshots in the area. No one was injured during the incident.

Deputies met with a 20-year-old male victim whose car was hit with gunfire. The victim said that he drove from the area for his safety and the safety of his passenger. The reporting deputy saw the car had several bullet holes in the rear window, and the rear passenger side window was shattered. He told investigators that his car was parked on Yorktowne Drive, and he was talking to a friend. He heard several gunshots and got down. He did not see the direction the assailant fled. He afforded only little information to investigators and refused to answer questions.
