On Sunday, September 21, 2014, at 5:24 pm, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the Reserve Airport for the report of a small aircraft that crashed. The two occupants of the aircraft were killed. They were identified as Darren Mahler, 47, and a family friend, Peyton R Wilt, 13, both of Metairie.
