On Thursday, August 7, 2014, at 10:02 pm, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 400 block of NW 3rd Street in Reserve for the report of a subject that was shot. When deputies arrived on the scene, they found a 19 year-old LaPlace man sitting on the ground with a single gunshot wound in his back. He was conscious and alert. The victim was transported to University Hospital for treatment.
 

The victim told deputies that he had just walked out an apartment when he heard gunshots and felt something hit him in the back causing him to fall to the ground. He realized that he had been shot. He saw two male subjects running. One subject with dreadlocks was wearing a dark color shirt; the other subject was wearing a tank top shirt.
