On Thursday, August 7, 2014, the US Marshalls Fugitive Task Force arrested Alonzo Wilkens, 23, in New Orleans. He was wanted for the murder of Kentrell Bailey on July 28 in LaPlace. Wilkens was located at a family member’s house in New Orleans.  

    Alonzo Wilkens was transferred and to the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office Sherman Walker Correctional Center and booked with second-degree murder. His bond is $1,000,000. Wilkens was arrested eleven times in St. John the Baptist Parish since October 2008. His charges include firearm charges, attempted murder, burglary, aggravated assault.

St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives identified Alonzo Wilkens, 23, of LaPlace as a suspect in the murder of Kentrell Bailey who was found dead in LaPlace Monday morning. Detectives obtained a judicial court ordered arrest warrant for Wilkens. Wilkens is five foot five inches tall and weighs 120 pounds. His last known address is on Grant Street. He is wanted for second-degree murder.

Homicide Investigation  – Main St at Farm Rd, LaPlace LA

On Monday, July 28, 2014, at 08:29 am, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the intersection of Main St. and Farm Rd. in LaPlace for the report of a subject laying in a ditch. When deputies arrived on the scene, they found an unresponsive male subject with a gunshot wound in the head and was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim was identified as Kentrell Dyion Bailey,  30, of LaPlace.
