On Monday, January 27, 2014, at 8:40 pm, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the River Parish Hospital Emergency Room for the report of a shooting victim that walked in the emergency room for treatment. The 23-year-old male victim from LaPlace sustained a gunshot wound to the middle finger of his right hand. He was treated and transferred to another area hospital for additional treatment.
The victim and the witness who drove the victim to the hospital, provided different information to investigators on how the shooting occurred.
