In the early morning hours on Wednesday, June 19, 2013, a 34 year old LaPlace man walked in the River Parish Hospital Emergency Room for treatment of injuries sustained when he was punched then robbed of cash. He was treated for a broken jaw.

The victim told detectives that the incident occurred on Camelia Avenue in LaPlace. Over the course of the investigation, detectives identified Todd Joseph Jr., 28, of Persimmon Street in LaPlace as the suspect. Sheriff’s Office records indicate that Joseph was arrested 73 times in St. John the Baptist Parish since August 19, 2002.

Prior to being identified as the suspect for the robbery, Joseph was arrested and booked at the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office Sherman Walker Correctional Center on a bench warrant, attachment, and probation violation. Detectives booked him with second degree battery and simple robbery. His bond is $70,150.00.
