On Sunday, February 10th, at 10:55 pm, a St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office Deputy responded to the 8800 block of Richmond Drive in LaPlace for the report of three male subjects that had busted out the window of a car. When the responding deputy arrived in the area, he located three subjects matching the description of the perpetrators. When the deputy stepped out with the subjects, one of the subjects fled. The deputy pursued the subject eventually apprehending him. The other two subjects left the area during the foot pursuit.

Upon investigation of the broken window on the car, deputies found a tire tool on the ground next to the car. The scene was processed, and evidence was collected. The apprehended suspect was identified as Eli Moore, 17, of LaPlace. He was booked with attempted simple burglary, simple criminal damage to property, resisting a deputy by flight, and contraband taken into a penal institution. Moore’s bond was $14,500.00. He has since bonded out of jail.
