Nature Of Call: DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE
When deputies responded to a domestic disturbance with gunshots, they found a 33 year old Reserve man in a bedroom with gunshot wounds in both his lower legs. He told deputies his mother shot him. He was transported to a New Orleans area hospital for treatment.
Through the course of the initial investigation, deputies learned that the incident evolved from an argument over dirty laundry between the victim and his female acquaintance. When the mother saw her son threaten his female acquaintance with a knife, the mother grabbed her son, and a physical altercation ensued. The 58 year old mother of the victim told deputies that she shot her son after he punched her several times. No one else was injured during the incident.
No one was arrested. Upon conclusion of the investigation, the case will be referred to the district attorney for review.
