Tyrodrick Brown

Tyrodrick Brown, 35, of LaPlace was arrested Saturday, April 29, 2017, in connection with a vehicle pursuit and crash involving police units. On Saturday, April 15, 2017, deputies responded to Fir and Capt G. Bourgeois Streets in reference to a call from a subject reporting that a male subject identified as Tyrodrick Brown, 35, of LaPlace was operating a 1993 Chevy pickup truck under the influence of narcotics. Upon arrival in the area, deputies discovered the vehicle traveling south on Elm Street in LaPlace and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The driver refused to stop, picked up speed, disregarding traffic signs, and then turned into Joe Parquet Circle. The vehicle pursuit ended when police units pulled up to the right and left of the vehicle, and the driver crashed into the front passenger side of a police unit, lost control, and then crashed into an apartment. Officers sustained no injuries in the crash. Brown then fled on foot into a wooded area near the housing complex. Officers canvassed the area but were unable to locate him.

During a search of the truck, a make shift pipe, a clear plastic bag containing marijuana, and a hand rolled cigar containing marijuana also were found in the vehicle.

A judicial warrant was obtained Saturday, April 15, 2017 for Brown’s arrest for charges of aggravated flight from an officer, hit and run driving, possession of marijuana first offense, possession of distribution of drug paraphernalia first offense, reckless operation of a vehicle, aggravated flight from an officer, hit and run.

Brown turned himself in to the SJSO and was arrested Saturday, April 29, 2017. He was released from custody April 30 on a $24,669.50 bond.
