On Saturday, December 5, 2015, at 12:26 am, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the area near Central Avenue and East 3rd Street in Reserve for the report of gunshots heard and the report of a man asking for help at a house on East 1st Street. Responding deputies located a 38-year-old Reserve man with a gunshot wound to his leg on the porch of a house in the 100 block of East 1st Street. Emergency medical services transported the wounded man to an area hospital for medical treatment. His current condition is unknown.
Less than a half hour later, another man with a gunshot wound, a 32- year-old from Reserve, walked in the Ochsner River Parish emergency room for medical treatment. He sustained a gunshot wound to his back. His current condition is unknown.
The investigation revealed to investigators that both men were injured during a shooting that took place at the corner of Central Avenue and Highway LA 44 in Reserve. Neither victim was cooperative with investigators during the investigation.
